It was wonderful taking my boys to the museum. My grand father was Allen Caswell. His pay stub was on display. My uncle Bud worked there as well. The attendants remember my mother Betty and my aunt Ruth and even my grandfather who used to help fix carburetors. I love the area and my family up there. Just got home yesterday after a 38 hours drive and already planning our next visit. Thanks so much for doing this and keeping the memory alive.

Brothers Lewis and Caleb Hurlburt lived in Whitehall early 1700's. Moved to Jennings Co (SE Ind) 1821. I know nothing of their life in Whitehall.
Bela O. Miner came from around this area in New York (1820's Indiana) Do any of these people sound familiar to anyone? Thank you for your consideration.

Recently I attended the Lyon Mountain Museum. What a gem!! I told the docent Rita of my family background of the Standish, Wolf Pond area and the Romeo name. I had a great Uncle Henry from Standish and my grandmother Jeanette Romeo was from Standish as well. Her father's name was Antonio Romeo and his brother was Frank Romeo. I remember going to Uncle Frank's camp in either Standish or Wolf Pond as a kid. I recently received a photo of Antonio Romeo standing outside the Standish Dock and Coal Building and the old Standish Post Office. I am looking for any person or information about this family legacy. Please feel free to contact me at this e-mail address. Sincerely, Melissa Bistor-Cross

I'm Garrett Cashman's nephew. One of my early memories was the morning the police came to arrest him in 1954, I was 4yo. I have his seat and wooden bicycle rim, as well as his scrapbook. Thanks for the story.

Hello,
I am the 70 year old Grandaughter of William Brown Inglee who lived and raised 11 children in Whitehall. I enjoyed your site about Whitehall.I lived on Potter St. my Grandparents lived on Poultney St). I attended the Williams Street Elem. School up to age 6 and we moved away. My grandfather William B Inglee was the local Whitehall Times and Post Star reporter for years, having an office along the side of the now defunct Movie Theater. I believe he was also the Coroner at one time. Preston Inglee my uncle was well known in the community. A clock with his name was placed on a corner building of the bank I am trying to research my Grandfather's life. He, his wife and children were photographed on the front steps of their Poultney Street home by the Movie Film Crew. We have that photo. Where is the best place to find local geneology records? Thanks for the memories and photos.
