The old LaVergne barn stood unoccupied on the shores of Lake Abanakee for many years. Then in 1993 two women purchased the property and began an adventure in business that would change their lives forever. Through These Doors traces the history of that business in a small town in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Readers will experience the excitement of discovery as they follow the author from the initial introduction to the grounds, through the launching of the fledgling enterprise, to the treasure hunt for inventory.

Kathleen Larkin is a retired educator and an award-winning photographer. Her work has appeared in Adirondack Life magazine and in galleries in the United States and Europe. She divides her time between her home on the coast of New Jersey and her business in Indian Lake, New York. This is her first work of non-fiction.
