Sheri Amsel, the Adirondack Illustrator, has degrees in botany and zoology, a master's in anatomy and biomedical illustration, and did an internship in scientific illustration at the Smithsonian Institute. She has written and illustrated nonfiction science and nature books for children and field guides for adults. She has also created many murals and taught anatomy, physiology, and biology at three colleges.
